How can we strengthen very young children's self-efficacy? Which activities promote the specific educational processes of children under the age of three? How can we design spaces that provide support while also encouraging exploration?
Understanding the interaction between room design and educational concepts offers great potential. Working with the youngest children challenges us to create rooms with a high functional density. At the same time, children need rooms with open functions so that they can take advantage of a wide range of opportunities for self-determined learning processes at different levels.
In this webinar, we provide practical examples from nurseries to give you ideas on how you can support your daily educational work through meaningful room design. We start with the abilities and needs of nursery children. We highlight the importance and challenges of mixed-age groups and show how a prepared environment forms the basis for self-determined play. Learn about the effect of colors and materials and explore with daycare space consultant Anja von Karstedt how a room can encourage the little ones to grasp, discover, and try things out.
Duration: approx. 60 min. plus time for questions and discussion
