In the run-up

  • Kameleon offers manufacturer-independent planning – what does that mean?

Manufacturer-independent planning means that we plan the products that best meet your requirements in terms of price/performance. For series products such as tables, chairs, cabinets, wardrobes, etc., there are a large number of manufacturers whose products we can plan for you. For custom-made products (e.g., changing tables, built-in cabinets, platform landscapes, etc.) that need to be built by a carpenter/joiner, we can offer planning right through to implementation planning—or, if desired, have them built in our own workshops.

  • Kameleon planned the interior design and drew up the tender documents—should Kameleon be excluded from the tender process?

No, you do not necessarily have to exclude Kameleon from the tender process under VOB. However, there are some rules and regulations that must be observed in order to avoid conflicts of interest and ensure transparency and fairness in the tendering process. It is advisable to review the specific provisions of VOB and, if necessary, seek legal advice to ensure that all regulations are complied with.

  • Will Kameleon come to our facility for the initial consultation?

Initial consultations are usually conducted by telephone or remotely. For this, we require certain documents, which can be sent to us by email: plans and pictures of the installation situation for existing buildings or plans from architects for new buildings.

  • What does Kameleon understand by the process of cooperation?

We understand this to mean customer-oriented and transparent communication with all parties involved. From the initial consultation and needs analysis to individual planning and implementation, the customer is always the focus. Regular coordination and adjustments ensure that the solutions are optimally tailored to the customer's needs and circumstances. This promotes close cooperation and satisfaction.

  • At what stage of the project should Kameleon be brought in?

Ideally, Kameleon should be involved right from the start of the project, i.e., during the requirements analysis and concept development phase. This enables Kameleon to offer comprehensive consulting and customized planning that is precisely tailored to the specific requirements and objectives of your project.

  • Does Kameleon also offer color consulting and planning services?

Yes. The color scheme has a fundamental effect on the room and the feeling it conveys. In our consultations and webinars, we provide recommendations on floor and wall colors to ensure that the room has the desired atmosphere and functionality.

  • Does Kameleon also offer lighting design services?

We do not undertake lighting design ourselves, but we support specialist designers and architects in this area. We provide valuable recommendations to ensure that the lighting is optimally tailored to the needs of the room and its users. Lighting plays a crucial role in the atmosphere and functionality of a room, and we look forward to working with you and your architect to design this important aspect.

  • Does Kameleon operate nationwide?

Yes, Kameleon operates nationwide. Our planning team is based at various locations and we have two production facilities in Buchholz i.d.Nordheide and Mainleus. We are also active throughout the German-speaking region and are ready to implement your projects anywhere.

We offer manufacturer-independent consulting and planning for acoustic solutions. Our expert in this field, Udo Dünisch, carries out the necessary measurements on site in advance and can offer and install acoustic solutions optimized for the use of the space.

  • Why is the educational approach so important for interior design?

Attitude is design – that is the title of one of our webinars on this topic. In order to develop a functional room concept, it must be clearly defined what educational attitude the daycare staff has. This is best done in the so-called basic evaluation at the beginning of the joint planning process.

  • Why are catalog pedestals not simply sold without further inquiry?

To ensure that everything runs smoothly, we need to check in advance whether the platform can be set up at the desired location. To do this, we require floor plans, current photos, and precise measurements of the intended installation site, if possible.

  • What are planning and service phases?

Planning and service phases are structured steps in the project process, ranging from basic evaluation to completion. They include the planning, approval, execution, and monitoring of a project.

  • What distinguishes Kameleon Raumplanung from other providers?

Kameleon space planning is carried out independently of any subsequent implementation and is based on the actual needs of the customers. It aims to make optimal use of the available space, support educators in their work (space as a third educator), and create as much space as possible for children to play freely.

  • What does structural planning mean?

The structural planning of rooms involves the systematic arrangement and organization of room sizes, shapes, and relationships in order to create an efficient and user-friendly room structure.

  • Why doesn't the plateau that our carpenter/joiner built work?

Carpenters and joiners often work according to predefined plans or instructions that may not be tailored to your specific needs and the available space. Educational aspects may not be given sufficient consideration. A well-designed loft can not only provide additional space, but also promote children's development by incorporating areas for various activities and learning opportunities.

  • Does Kameleon only offer room concepts for nurseries and daycare centers?

Kameleon not only offers planning and room concepts for nurseries and daycare centers, but also for all early childhood education facilities, such as after-school care centers and open all-day schools (OGS).

  • What does service phase 0 or basic evaluation mean?

Service phase 0, also known as basic evaluation, covers the preparatory work for a construction project. This is where the basic requirements and framework conditions are determined, project goals are defined, and initial feasibility studies are carried out. This phase forms the basis for all further planning and decisions in the course of the project.

  • Are there also planning costs for catalog pedestals?

For catalog pedestals, there may be minor planning costs for reviewing the plans.

  • What planning and consulting services can Kameleon Raumkonzepte offer?

In the field of educational interior design and interior construction, Kameleon offers everything from basic evaluation (service phase 0) to training courses and workshops (service phase 10) on request. Acoustic solutions are also individually planned by our own specialist department and offered independently of manufacturers.

  • How much does an initial consultation cost?

An initial consultation is always non-binding and free of charge. Its purpose is to obtain initial information from the customer, discuss the task at hand, and estimate the scope of the project required. Only in the next step is an offer made, which the customer can then accept.

  • Why is Kameleon sometimes more expensive than other suppliers?

Kameleon products are made to order and not mass-produced. We place great value on handcrafted production in carpenter quality, offer the utmost care, and use selected materials and sustainable raw materials. In addition, we use certified woods, which further underlines the quality, durability, and sustainability of our products.

  • Are there also planning costs for catalog pedestals?

For catalog pedestals, there may be minor planning costs for reviewing the plans.

  • Why does planning cost money at Kameleon Raumkonzepte? Other providers offer this as a free service.

For us, planning is a separate service. This allows us to advise our customers independently of any subsequent product sales and offer them the best possible solution. Providers who do not charge planning costs have to refinance this service through product sales and factor it into the product price. The consequence of this is that they will try to sell you as many (sometimes unnecessary) products as possible.

  • Which Kameleon Raumkonzepte services are subject to a fee and which are free of charge?

Our initial consultations are always free of charge. The same applies to our free webinars, which we offer regularly on various interior design topics. Chargeable services only arise after a prior quote and after you have placed your order, and are billed according to the actual time and work involved.
